June, 2016

Thank  you to the Shevlin family who once again gave up their weekend to help us finalise the trickle stream.  The retaining wall and garden has all been finished, ready for our children to explore!  This project wouldn't have been possible without the support of Gnangara Landscape Construction and the Warrandyte Community Bank.

June, 2016

The trickle stream is now operational!  Thanks to our families that helped get the pump working so the kids can start to enjoy the mechanics of the stream.
This project would not have been possible without the Warrandyte Community Bank - we are so blessed to have this bank in our community, supporting many of our kinders, schools and clubs that our children will enjoy for a long time.

May, 2016

We now have the formation of the tricke stream!  The riverbed has been laid and it was all thanks to the many parent helpers that volunteered their time to construct and lay the materials.  While the Warrandyte Community Bank have generously provided financial support, it would not have happened without the the time commitment from our Yarra Warra family.  Thank you to everyone who has been involved so far....the kids are going to love it!

April, 2016

The foundations are down!  The trickle stream is coming!!!!  What a lovely demonstration of Warrandyte comradery, with all our volunteer helpers.  We must give a huge shout out to Gnangara Lanscape Construction who has not only donated their time, but many materials as well.  Of course our biggest shoutout goes to the Warrandyte Community Bank for their generous grant support.

November, 2016

Thank you to Warrandyte Community Bank for awarding us a community grant of $4283.  Yarra Warra Pre-School were lucky enough to be supported in our project to build an Imaginative Natural & Sustainable Playscape, incorporating a trickle stream and imaginative garden.  This will be a fantastic new addition for our kinder and construction will commence in early 2017.

This new facility for Yarra Warra will promote:

  • educational advancement
  • motor skill development
  • foster play based learning in a natural environment

Updates will be made as the project progresses.  There will be opportunity for parents and businesses to get involved and of course working bees where all helping hands are appreciated...even the children.  We are seeking two specific skill sets to help with initial construction.  If you or someone you know can help in the areas of a small amount of plumbing or wood work we would love to hear from you.  Please email

The children really enjoy their time in the outdoors, and this will be especially true with this new playscape. The Preschool is very grateful for the generous support of the Warrandyte Community Bank.

Warrandyte Festival 2009
A huge congratulations to the 4 year old kinder kids and the super teachers, Connie and Kaye, on their award-winning float at this year’s festival parade!! Yarra Warra Preschool won the MOST COLOURFUL prize for the gorgeous truck decorated with pictures of what the kids love.

The truck and the kids looked fantastic. Well done to Connie, Kaye, Meegan and Sue for bringing water sprays to keep the kids (and a few parents following on foot) cool in the baking heat!

Thank you to the parents who provided all of the wonderful baked goodies for this year’s cake stall. Most of them sold out on the first day, so a few parents were baking again Saturday night!

The craft element added to this year’s stall was also a huge success. We had some very creative kids come along and make beautiful masks and visors. Thanks also to all the parents who worked on the stall over the weekend, your involvement is necessary to the success of these activities.

The biggest thank you has to go to fund-raising co-ordinators Angela, Becca and Lisa for putting together the most successful festival stall to date. They worked tirelessly in the lead-up to the festival and spent much of their weekend monitoring and re-stocking the stall. A special mention must also go to Natalie for sourcing and supplying much of the fabulous craft material.
